A viewing will be held 1 hour prior to services. Interment will follow across the street at the Bountiful City Cemetery.Barbara was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many church callings. Ralph and Barbara also served as ordinance workers in the Salt Lake Utah Temple for ten years. Together they loved to serve others and always willing to help those in need. Their first proselyting mission was in the Tennessee Knoxville mission (1992-1994). After mom and dad returned from this mission, they decided to leave Bountiful and move down by Shauna and her family. They first lived in Fairview Utah and then moved even closer to Mt. Pleasant. While living there they were called to serve in the Texas Houston East Mission (2001-2002). They also served missions locally at the Utah Moroni Dry Pack Cannery (2004-2006), and as FHE missionaries at the Gunnison Prison. They were so grateful to be close by Shauna as she courageously dealt with her cancer. After her passing, they helped with the girls for awhile but mostly the girls helped them! Soon the winter cold and all the doctor visits to Provo became too much, so they moved to St. George (2009) to be close to where Brian and Brent lived. They easily made friends wherever they went. They lived in Country Meadows and loved being in their senior community.

Many of our memories would be mom at the sewing machine. She found great comfort and satisfaction in sewing. To us, it seemed like she could make anything! Besides sewing our pajamas and clothes, she made prom, wedding, and temple dresses. She also made a suit for dad, re-upholstered a couch and about anything else we needed! (We knew she hid her candy in her sewing drawers!). She really enjoyed working on humanitarian projects and making a lot of items for the baby kits, fabric toys, dolls, receiving blankets and hundreds of hats. She loved Relief Society Homemaking days!Barb devoted herself to raising her sons. She instilled family values of respect, kindness, hard work and a love of the Lord in her four sons, who are very grateful for their upbringing. She also enjoyed mowing the lawn, raking the leaves, and caring for her garden.

She was very proud of each member of her family and loved to tell her caregivers and her fellow residents about them. She loved eating out at Culvers and McDonalds; taking long drives, watching the Packers, Badgers, and Brewers; and visiting her sons in their homes. She was always willing to help with household tasks, no matter what it was. She was the family matriarch who always knew what each member of the family was up to and passed that information on to the others. We could always count on her having the latest information about special events, travel plans, job changes, birthdays and more.
Barbara was born July 13, 1930, in Platteville to Harry and Alta (Shepherd) LaHann. Barb helped her family for a number of years, caring for her younger brother while her mother and father worked. Later she worked at the Avalon Movie Theater on Main Street in Platteville, which is where she met her husband. She married Vincent Eugene Fisher on December 27, 1959, at the First English Lutheran Church in Platteville. They lived in Lancaster and raised a family of four sons, until moving to a retirement community in Platteville in 2013, and then to St. Mary‘s Care Center in Madison in 2018.Barbara is survived by her four sons, Michael (Heidi) of Naperville, IL, Craig (Caroline) of Onalaska, Mark (Mary) of Madison, and Scott (Lisa) of Madison; fourteen very special grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and her brother James LaHann of Brookfield. She was preceded in death by her husband Vincent (2018), her brothers Robert and Orville, and an infant granddaughter.

She gave back to her community by volunteering at Orchard Manor for several years. We can imagine how much those residents enjoyed her visits, as she always had kind words for everyone.
