We believe in Montana Farmers and the traditions we have crafted down here in the Bitterroot & Missoula Valleys. As more and more out of state companies come in to take control of the market, remember where your product comes from, whom it benefits and if that business has this community’s goals at heart. We certainly do. There’s a lot of companies masquerading as such, but there’s only a few doing it right for Missoula. There is one week left to vote for the Best of Missoula 2022. We are excited and honored to be recognized as one of the best Dispensary’s in Missoula. We’ve spent 5 years laying down Roots here as Urban Farmer and over a decade plus just as Joe + Kate and our other ventures. We’re truly a Missoula institution.

Of the public golf courses in and around Missoula, Canyon River and Larchmont stand out. Canyon River offers one of the best-kept public courses in the country. Larchmont is reasonably priced for 18 holes at $38. It’s fun yet challenging; if you can par the first 4 holes you’re a better golfer than this guy:
There you have it: the best things to do in Missoula. If you’re on a journey through the rest of Montana, you can check out the best hotels in the state. Enjoy your stay! The Missoula Art Museum and Missoula Public Library are less than a ten minute walk from each other downtown, and there’s always something to see. The library was recently named the best public library in the world. No, we’re not kidding. See it for yourself! While dogs are welcome in all public parks, Jacobs Island is known to locals as one of the best places to take your dog with a mile-long walk around the perimeter, plenty of space to run and around, and take in views of the Clark Fork River. Do it. Even if you’ve never hiked once in you life, even if you’re out of shape, even if it takes you a couple hours. The M Trail takes you up the backside of Mt Sentinel near the university campus and you get stunning views of the city near the big white “M” at the summit. Hiking The M is on pretty much every “must-do” list of things to do in the city you can find on the internet.Whether you live to get outdoors or you only go outside by force, there’s plenty to do in Missoula for everyone. Here are the 5 best things to do in the Garden City while you’re in town.
There’s a lot more to do at Fort Missoula than it gets credit for. It’s a vast complex of museums, playgrounds, ball fields, and historic buildings. They’ve filled up over 150 acres with stuff to do, and you could literally spend all day here and easily fill up your camera roll.
There’s over 50 public parks in Missoula, and the city does a great job keeping them maintained and available. We recommend Jacobs Island Park, just north of the university campus.
For as much as we hear about people moving to Montana, it’s easy to forget about the people who are only temporarily in town. If you’re a parent of University of Montana student, on a weekend getaway, or even a vacationer taking one of the offramps from Interstate 90 for the night, you’re going to need something to do while you are here. Who wants to sit in their hotel room all weekend?Top Hat was voted as having the Best Appetizers in Missoula — no doubt in large part to the tried and true Fried Dill Pickles, Chicken & Waffles, and Sautéed Brussels Sprouts. New favorites include the Auguachile, Pupusa, and Fry Special. Top Hat also came in 3rd for Best Family-Friendly Restaurant and 2nd for Best Bar Food. Take a look at the full menu here.

The new Missoula library officially opened its shiny glass doors to the public in 2021. The elaborate four level building, which boasts a luxurious rooftop lounge, was designed by Montana’s own A&E architecture firm (also responsible for the beautification of the new Missoula International Airport), and the Minneapolis based design company MSR.
Our very own Missoula Public Library was named Public Library of the Year by the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA)! This worldwide competition included 20 different libraries from 17 countries all gunning for first place, which offered a reward of $5,000, along with the epic title of World’s Best Library. After a nail-biting month in June when four libraries were shortlisted for the award, the World Library and Information Congress (WLIC) finally announced Missoula takes gold!”… Missoula Public Library has it all. The building stands out for its beautiful architecture that pays homage to the surrounding landscape, while functioning as a library with a wealth of offers and possibilities that also serves as a meeting place for the local community. The library, therefore, scores highly against all the award’s criteria. It’s a library that you would relish having in your own local area. It’s a library built for the future,” said Jury chair Jakob Guillois Lærkes at the July, 2022 World Library event, hosted in Dublin.Admit it. We’re all looking for that perfect meal, that to-die-for cappuccino, that little slice of something that says, “Hey, I was here, and I fully experienced all things Missoula.” The Missoula Family YMCA is dedicated to Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. The facility operates from June through October, seven days a week, with an admission fee. Along with wildlife viewing, the facility also provides an opportunity to learn more about this native species of Montana.
