Robert Urban Middendorf, 73, Newburg, ND passed away in his home on June 3, 2019, just 11 days after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. A celebration of life will be held at the Newburg Senior Citizen Center on Saturday, June 8 at 2:00 pm.
He is preceded in death by his parents Urban and Gen Middendorf, father and mother in-law Jack and Arbell Sund, brother-in-laws Dick Samuelson and Jim Susag, nephew Wayd Helming.In 1969, he married Victoria Sund of Newburg. In 1971, Bob & Vicky’s first daughter Chela was born. Second daughter Amy came along just two short years later and the family moved to Newburg. Bob went to work for Sund Manufacturing at that time. Molly completed “Bob’s girls” when she was born in 1981.In his young adult years, Bob enjoyed the race world with his brother-in-law, Doug, playing cards on Friday nights and softball at Carl’s Grove. He enjoyed his time as a volunteer firefighter. He was an avid Cubs fan as well as Newburg Eagle fan and was one of their biggest fans in the 80’s. As his daughters grew older, he was at every event with his video camera, and once grandchildren came into the picture, he loved attending their sporting events and school programs. He didn’t miss much.
“Bob” was born on November 12, 1945 to Urban and Genevieve (Linnertz) Middendorf. Gen & Urban brought him home to the farm in Grano, ND to meet his older sister Helen. When he was in high school, Gen, Urban and little sister, Audrey moved into Lansford where he graduated as a Lansford Cub in 1963.Bob is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Vicky Middendorf, daughters, Chela (Rick Demke), Amy (Todd Harris) all of Minot, ND and Molly (Josh Lee) of Westhope, ND; grandchildren, Emma and Jack Demke, Dawson and Darian Harris and Laken, Tiger and Bergen Lee; great-grandchildren, Abram Harris and Carter Boecker; sisters Helen (Doug Groves) and Audrey (Steve Sidener); brothers and sisters in-law Jim Sund (Joan Boltz), Cheryl Samuelson, Kathy Susag and Sam Sund as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Robert Thomas Middendorf of O’Fallon, MO was born on Saturday, December 12, 1953 to William Harry Middendorf and Alice Margaret (Keith) Middendorf. He passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at the age of 66 years, 8 months, and 1 day.He is survived by his twin daughters Amy Buxton of Bonne Terre, MO and Amanda Hauk of O’Fallon, MO; sister Janice Amidon of O’Fallon, MO; grandchildren Jackson Buxton, Emma Buxton, Liam Buxton, and Isaac Buxton all of Bonne Terre, MO, and Nicholas Hauk and Emily Hauk both of O’Fallon, MO; other relatives and friends.
Robert accepted the Lord at a young age and attended a Presbyterian Church. He was raised by his Uncle William “Bill” and Aunt Lucille “Lou” Keith from the age of two. He was a graduate of North County Tech High School in St. Louis County. He was a welder by trade in teh metal fabricating industry. He was the father of twin daughters, Amy and Amanda, who he adored. He will be fondly missed by his family and friends.

Coach Middendorf made an impact on and off the field, leaving behind many coaches he worked with and players he loved, whether in travel leagues, PYAA, Ridgeview Junior High, or Pickerington High School Central.Bobby was a 1985 graduate of Pickerington High School, where he wrestled for Pickerington High School under coach Nick Burgess. Bobby coached Wrestling at Pickerington High School Central since 2001 and Football and Baseball since 2003.
