He is survived by : his sister Helen; his children, Kenneth (Kelly), Patrick (Karen), Kathleen (Richard), Mike (Sue) and Tim (Martha); his grandchildren, Casey Sullivan (Matt), Sean Sullivan, Kate Green (Jordan), Jack Sullivan, Benjamin Flynn, Gioanna, Nicoletta and Timothy Sullivan; and his great grandchildren, Amelia Green and Phoebe Sullivan. We are sad to announce that on June 10, 2023, at the age of 86, Dennis J. Sullivan of Somerset, Massachusetts passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Dennis J. Sullivan to pay them a last tribute. He was preceded in death by Linda, his eternal soulmate and wife of 51 years, parents Elvin Sullivan and Eleanor Ashton, stepfather Charles Ashton, grandparents Grace and Emory Stahl, brother Larry Sullivan, sister Nannetta (Nan) Harris, half-brother David Shue, and nephews Billy Huber and B.J. Ranier.

Born in Barberton in 1945, Dennis grew up in Green, graduated from Green High School, and earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Akron. A member of Sigma Pi Fraternity, he worked to put himself through school and served his country as an Army reservist.
A devoted husband and father, Dennis put his family above all else. He taught his kids the value of education and hard work and was the first person they called with a question or problem. He always knew what to do. He was intelligent, curious, and well-read. Dennis was not one to pass time idly, and never left a job unfinished. He was funny and quick-witted – always ready with a zinger. He loved cars, animals, music, and Cleveland sports. A great storyteller, he was still full of tales his kids had yet to hear.Dennis will be remembered as a man of integrity whose family and friends looked to him for wisdom and guidance. His strong, assured presence and generous spirit will be greatly missed. His loved ones will strive to move forward in accordance with the lessons he has imparted.

Dennis devoted 37 years to the University of Akron as a Professor of Manufacturing Engineering Technology. He cared deeply about student success and he fought to ensure that students got what they paid for. An active member of the UA family, he served on faculty advisory committees and as an academic advisor. A lifelong Zip, he continued to support the University and its students through financial contributions and by establishing scholarships in Marketing and Music.

Dennis joined the US Army on August 23, 1965 and served his country in Vietnam until his honorable discharge on August 22, 1968. He returned to Thief River Falls where he worked with his dad and uncle Spanky at their Grain Belt Beer distribution until they sold the business in 1980.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents Peter and Violet, his brother Bob Sullivan; nephews Matthew John Sullivan, Joseph Neumann and brother-in-laws John Scanlan and Jim Manderud.Dennis Mark Sullivan was born on December 27, 1946 at Crookston, MN son of Peter and Violet (Raaen) Sullivan. He lived in Crookston until moving to Thief River Falls at the age of 6 years old. He attended school at St. Bernard’s Catholic School and graduated from Lincoln High School.

On November 8, 1970 he was united in marriage to Darline Manderud at Goodridge, MN. To this union three children were born Mark, Jenny and Ashley. Dennis also worked at Bridgeman’s for about 10 years and a few years at ODC before starting at Arctic Cat in 1994 where he worked until his retirement in 2014 at the age of 67.Dennis enjoyed reading, watching or listening to hockey and baseball games. Spending time with family and friends and socializing over a cup of coffee or a cold beer. He was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, the VFW and the American Legion both of Thief River Falls, MN.Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Darline of Thief River Falls, MN; children Mark Sullivan of Thief River Falls, MN, Jenny (Keith) Carlson of Isanti, MN and Ashley Sullivan of Thief River Falls, MN; grandchildren Emma Carlson, Zoe Glynn; siblings Danny (Julie) Sullivan of Moorhead, MN, Peter (Nancy) Sullivan of Bemidji, MN, Terry (Robbie) Sullivan of Nashwauk, MN, sister-in-law Marge Sullivan of Fargo, ND, along with several nieces and nephews.Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 10:30 AM at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Father Rick Lambert Officiating. Burial will be held at St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.

Dennis William Sullivan, 69, of Lake Mary, Florida passed away January 8, 2018 at the Florida Hospital Lake Mary Emergency Clinic . He is survived by his wife Mary Ann Sullivan of Lake Mary, Florida, two daughters and son-in-laws, Carrie Ann Cloud of Atlanta, Georgia and her husband Brooks Cloud, Jennifer Marie McCombs and her husband Justin McCombs of Sanford, Florida, one son, Patrick Joseph Sullivan of Lake Mary, Florida, three grandsons, Darien Sullivan, Finn McCombs, Wyatt Cloud, one granddaughter, Avery Sullivan, and many cousins. Dennis established Dennis W. Sullivan & Associates, Inc. in 1983 and built it into a successful financial planning business. He attained numerous awards throughout his career. He loved meeting people and established many close friendships with his clients. His motto was “Work Hard, Play Hard”. He and his wife Mary Ann traveled extensively. He embraced his Irish heritage and was so thrilled to visit Ireland in 2015. Dennis enjoyed working out at the gym and running was his passion, completing two marathons in 2004. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Mary and Ernest Sullivan and a sister Mary Beth Sullivan. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Northland Church, 530 Dog Track Road, Longwood, Florida 32750.
Upon his return from the service, he went on to study business at Bryant College. After graduation, he landed a job with General Electric taking him to Philadelphia. In 1960, he met Elizabeth Conley (Betty or Miss Betty to all who know her), and they wed in 1962, going on to have five children, Kenneth, Patrick, Kathleen, and the twins Timothy and Michael.Dennis spent his time driving a school bus, running, biking, walking, and enjoying time at Gooseberry beach with family. With his lifelong friend, Bruce Murphy, he conquered the Boston Marathon in 1981. He showed his children many fun places while towing a StarCraft popup camper. But more importantly, he showed them the importance of generosity and goodwill to all. Dennis was a great father, uncle, Pop-Pop, cousin and good friend to many. He managed to keep the 3M company afloat with his avid use of Duct tape for all manner of home DIY projects. Calling hours for Dennis, will be on Monday, June 26th, from 4-7 PM at Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton Street in Somerset. He is also survived by his five children Kenneth and Kelly, Patrick and Karen, Kathleen and Richard, Mike and Sue, Tim and Martha. He also leaves eight wonderful grandchildren – Casey (Matt) Sullivan, Sean Sullivan, Kate (Jordan) Green, Jack Sullivan, Benjamin Flynn, Gioanna, Nicoletta and Timothy Sullivan. He also enjoyed time with his two beautiful great granddaughters, Amelia Green and Phoebe Sullivan.

Certain information you provide to Company may be shared by using the Site’s search function. This allows other Users to locate your profile and it allows new Users to find people they know on the Site.

Company reserves the right to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Services with or without notice. You agree that Company will not be liable to you or to any third party for any modification, suspension or discontinuance thereof. The Company has no responsibility or liability for the deletion or failure to store any data or other content maintained or uploaded by the Services. To the extent you access the Services through a mobile device, your wireless service carrier’s standard charges, data rates and other fees may apply. In addition, downloading, installing, or using certain Services may be prohibited or restricted by your carrier, and not all Services may work with all carriers or devices. Donors acknowledge that by contributing Donations to Campaigns, Donors are agreeing to any and all applicable terms and conditions set forth by a third party payment processor, in addition to these Terms and Conditions. Definitions: In these Terms and Conditions “Campaign Organizers” means those raising funds, and “Campaigns” as their fundraising campaigns. Additionally, “Donors” means those contributing funds, and “Donations” as the funds they contribute. Campaign Organizers, Donors and other visitors to the Services are referred to collectively as “Users”. The term “Campaign Organizers” shall also be deemed to include any individual(s) designated as a beneficiary of Campaigns.To become a User, Company shall collect certain Personally Identifiable Information, which you are required to provide. Information that is not required shall be deemed voluntary and you may provide such information, although not mandatory.

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the Book Of Memories websites (the “Website”) and other services (collectively the “Services”). IN NO EVENT WILL COMPANY’S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL DAMAGES, LOSSES OR CAUSES OF ACTION EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID COMPANY IN THE LAST SIX (6) MONTHS, BUT IN NO EVENT MORE THAN ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100).

Company may include third-party links on the Site. These third-party sites are governed by their own privacy policies and NOT this Policy. Company therefore has no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these third-party sites. Please check the privacy policy of any third-party site you interact with on or off the Site.Payment of Donations: In order to contribute to a Campaign, Donors will be required to provide Company information regarding its credit card (i.e., VISA, MasterCard, Discover or American Express) or other payment method. Donors represent and warrant to Company that such information is true and that Donors are authorized to use the credit card or payment method. Donors agree that a certain minimum Donation amount may apply, and that all Donation payments are final and cannot be refunded. Donors agree to promptly update account information with any changes that may occur and to pay the Donation amount that you specify. Donors hereby authorize Company to bill Donors’ credit cards and payment methods in advance on a periodic basis until Donors terminate periodic payments through the Platform.

YOU MUST BE EIGHTEEN (18) YEARS OR OLDER TO ACCESS THE SITE OR USE ITS SERVICES. IF YOU ARE UNDER EIGHTEEN YEARS OF AGE, YOU ARE NOT PERMITTED TO ACCESS ANY OF COMPANY’S SERVICES FOR ANY REASON. In addition, if you are under 18 years old, you may use the Services, with or without registering, only with the approval of your parent or guardian. Certain aspects of our Services may also require you to register with (and agree to the terms of) third party service providers (e.g., payment processors or charitable donation processors) in order to utilize such Services. While we may help facilitate such registration in some cases, we are not a party to any such relationships and disclaim any responsibility or liability for the performance by such third parties.
