In the announcement, Ford president and CEO Jim Farley said this will more than double the number of fast-chargers in the U.S. and Canada for owners of Ford EVs including the Mustang Mach-E, E-Transit, and F-150 Lightning pickup. Currently they have about 10,000 fast-chargers available through Ford’s BlueOval Charge Network, and more than 12,000 Superchargers will be added under the agreement. In what is almost as surprising a development, Ford said its EVs will also get an adapter to allow them to use the Superchargers. Starting in 2025, a connector developed by Tesla will be built into new Ford EVs, the company said. The Tesla North American Charging Standard (NACS) connector on Ford EVs fitted with a Combined Charging System (CCS) port will allow the vehicles to be used with Tesla V3 Superchargers. A Ford spokesperson called this connector “smaller and lighter” to provide “a superior experience for customers.”

Due to the nature of the purchase, there are no refunds on engines, engine kits, transmission kits, transmissions, or other engine/trans related special order kits..

Passenger Bed Rear Side Skirt was removed from a 2003 F150 Lightning. Side Skirt is in good condition and ready to install!!! Paint has blemishes and rock chips!!! We do not warranty the paint!!! This SVT Lightning had a automatic transmission with paint code YN and axle code L9 3.55. But industry logic held that that at some point in the future, when EV adoption reaches a certain percentage of the new car market, it would make sense for Tesla to begin making money from letting other EVs use its Supercharger stations rather than letting the proprietary connector become a mechanism of excluding others, while also placing Tesla owners at a disadvantage as other networks surged in number. Tesla had promised to open up its massive Supercharger network for years now, with CEO Elon Musk making a series of generally positive statements regarding the idea for a while. Tesla owners polled about this possibility from time to time weren’t particularly enthused about seeing lots of non-Tesla vehicles clogging Supercenter stations.Jay Ramey grew up around very strange European cars, and instead of seeking out something reliable and comfortable for his own personal use he has been drawn to the more adventurous side of the dependability spectrum. Despite being followed around by French cars for the past decade, he has somehow been able to avoid Citroën ownership, judging them too commonplace, and is currently looking at cars from the former Czechoslovakia. Jay has been with Autoweek since 2013.Will the use of Tesla’s Supercharger network be a significant incentive to buy Ford EVs, or will other factors be more important to buyers? Let us know what you think.”This is great news for our customers who will have unprecedented access to the largest network of fast-chargers in the US and Canada with 12,000+ Tesla Superchargers plus 10,000+ fast-chargers already in the BlueOval Charge Network,” said Jim Farley, Ford president and CEO.

With Ford vehicles slated to start using the network, this move could also motivate other automakers to adopt Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) connector standard as one of the two main types.
“Widespread access to fast-charging is absolutely vital to our growth as an EV brand, and this breakthrough agreement comes as we are ramping up production of our popular Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning, and preparing to launch a series of next-generation EVs starting in 2025,” Farley added.Using Tesla’s proprietary Superchargers will require a hardware adapter, as well as a software update. So this step will require owners of the Ford F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach-E, and E-Transit, which use a Combined Charging System (CCS) port, to obtain a connector, with payment and activation planned to work through FordPass or Ford Pro Intelligence. What’s more, Ford says that starting in 2025, its EVs will feature Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) connector as a built-in item, and will not need an adapter. So in a relatively short span of time, Ford EV owners will be able to obtain access to Tesla’s network in the US and Canada.”Tesla has led the industry in creating a large, reliable, and efficient charging system and we are pleased to be able to join forces in a way that benefits customers and overall EV adoption,” said Marin Gjaja, chief customer officer at Ford Model e. “The Tesla Supercharger network has excellent reliability, and the NACS plug is smaller and lighter. Overall, this provides a superior experience for customers.”

Can Ford Lightning use Tesla?
A Tesla-developed adapter will provide Ford F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach-E and E-Transit vehicles fitted with the Combined Charging System (CCS) port access to Tesla’s V3 Superchargers.
Tesla’s Supercharger network has indeed been one of the most lauded and non-controversial aspects of the Tesla user experience when it comes to hardware reliability, user interface, station upkeep, and network reach. Other EV networks present in the US have largely been unable to replicate its level of reliability—still one of the most frequently cited barriers to EV adoption.“This is great news for our customers who will have unprecedented access to the largest network of fast-chargers in the U.S. and Canada with 12,000+ Tesla Superchargers plus 10,000+ fast-chargers already in the BlueOval Charge Network,” said Jim Farley, Ford president and CEO. “Widespread access to fast-charging is absolutely vital to our growth as an EV brand, and this breakthrough agreement comes as we are ramping up production of our popular Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning, and preparing to launch a series of next-generation EVs starting in 2025.”A Tesla-developed adapter will provide Ford F-150 Lightning, Mustang Mach-E and E-Transit vehicles fitted with the Combined Charging System (CCS) port access to Tesla’s V3 Superchargers. Ford will equip future EVs with the NACS charge port, removing the need for an adapter for direct access to Tesla Superchargers, starting in 2025.

“Tesla has led the industry in creating a large, reliable and efficient charging system and we are pleased to be able to join forces in a way that benefits customers and overall EV adoption,” said Marin Gjaja, chief customer officer, Ford Model e. “The Tesla Supercharger network has excellent reliability and the NACS plug is smaller and lighter. Overall, this provides a superior experience for customers.”
The BlueOval Charge Network is already North America’s largest public charging network with over 84,000 chargers including access to over 10,000 public DC fast-chargers. Adding more than 12,000 Tesla Superchargers creates the single largest integrated fast-charge network across the U.S. and Canada, designed to significantly reduce charge anxiety for Ford customers, with automatic routing to the nearest charger and seamless billing via FordPass.Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) is a global company based in Dearborn, Michigan, committed to helping build a better world, where every person is free to move and pursue their dreams. Added Rebecca Tinucci, Tesla’s senior director of charging infrastructure: “We’ve spent the last 10 years building an industry-leading Charging Network that enables freedom to travel and provides charging confidence for our Tesla owners. We’re excited to deliver on our mission to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy by welcoming Ford owners, and other electric vehicles who adopt NACS, to our thousands of Superchargers across North America.”DEARBORN, Mich., May 25, 2023 – Ford Motor Company said today it reached an agreement with Tesla Motors that will provide Ford electric vehicle customers access to more than 12,000 Tesla Superchargers across the U.S. and Canada, doubling the number of fast-chargers available to Ford EV customers starting Spring 2024.

When activated, the standard 4G LTE modem unlocks a number of seamless connectivity services to help fleets optimize efficiency and lower operating costs. Electric vehicle-specific data, such as kilowatt-hour consumption, charge speed, distance to empty and more, are available to better understand how trucks are operating in real-time to optimize running costs and uptime. The military-grade aluminum alloy body and upgraded high-strength steel frame support the advanced battery, while the first F-Series independent rear suspension and low center of gravity help improve isolation from the road, provide a stable ride and reduce steering roll – all while maintaining the durability and reliability expected of an F-150. Advanced cooling systems help ensure the truck can thrive even through the toughest of ordeals, while thick, high-strength aluminum alloy protects the components and steel underbody shields are added for extra protection of the battery and dual electric in-board motors in the front and rear.Ford is the only automaker to offer an 80-amp charge station as standard equipment with the extended-range truck, helping customers easily charge at home. It takes advantage of the only dual onboard charging system in the industry to cut the 15% to 100% charge time to around eight hours for the targeted EPA-estimated 300-mile-range battery for reliable AC overnight charging that can dramatically reduce charging infrastructure investments and battery wear.“When we first showed this design to our commercial truck customers, they were floored,” said Cannis. “They appreciated the ability to quickly lock their tools and gear up front, while saving their cargo bed for supplies and other equipment to get the job done. So much more easy access space means commercial customers can rethink the way they work, like moving toolboxes to the frunk for unobstructed bed space.” §§ Charge time based on manufacturer computer engineering simulations. The charging rate decreases as battery reaches full capacity. Your results may vary based on peak charging times and battery state of charge. The truck’s Intelligent Range system reduces range anxiety through an adaptive monitoring system that calculates battery range needed to complete a trip, factoring in terrain, weather, cargo and trailer load, and distance to destination. That data is shared with the cloud-based Ford Power My Trip feature and SYNC 4, so customers can plan their routes and monitor charge use while driving. Should range become low, the system maps the nearest available charging station from America’s largest public charging network of more than 63,000 plugs – including DC Fast Charging locations – to help ensure drivers are not left stranded.

This means millions of miles of harsh testing at Ford facilities across the United States and on the road, and in the hands of commercial customers. The same is true for the battery and powertrain, which will endure a grueling array of tests that includes hundreds of charges and runs across rocks, stones, mud baths, up high grades in desert heat – with trailers attached, and in icy temperatures at 40-degrees below zero.
