He was a devoted and faithful father and grandfather, Harley Davidson enthusiast, Earnhardt fanatic, Miller-Lite drinkin’, El Camino cruisin’, good-time man. John could fix anything and loved to tinker. He loved to tell and listen to a good story, and his laugh was contagious. Cooking for a crowd and “shaking a leg” were just a couple of many of his specialties. He valued loyalty, hard work, and love.John is also survived by his sisters, Marilyn S. Mainwaring (Matthew) of Sims and Debra R. Viator (Robert) of Broussard, LA; special nieces and nephews, Casey, Nikki, Jessie John, Rachel, Robert, Robyn, and their families, and aunts, Laura Ann Walker (Kenny) of Kinston and Maude R. John is survived by his long-time partner, Katharine Taylor Rouse, and children, William Travis Rouse and Katharine Olivia Rouse, all of Kinston. Their two dogs, Harley and Izzy, brought John much joy.John Lee Stucker, Jr., 66, of Kinston, NC, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Lee Stucker, Sr. and Rachel Valentine Stucker.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Crosby Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Rentz officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 1:00 PM until service time. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Doris Marie Peacock Carter; daughter, Beverly Harper; granddaughter, Brandi Harper and great great grandchild, Lucien Harper. Survivors include three children, Howard Carter, Jr. (Deborah), Annelle Stanfield of Douglas and Connie Carter of Broxton; one sister, Carol Caves of Vidalia; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.This memorial is currently managed by Find a Grave.
