In a settlement, William Hayden and Stephanie Hayden surrendered their gun-making licenses and were allowed to choose a licensed individual to control Red Jacket. Initially, that person was Vincent Buckles, but Buckles has left the company and now two other individuals control the company.

Sons of Guns is a reality television series that aired on the Discovery Channel between 2011 and 2014. The series centers on Red Jacket Firearms LLC, a Louisiana-based business that manufactures and sells custom firearms to law enforcement, security firms, and private collectors. Will Hayden was the founder and owner of the shop, while his daughter and business partner Stephanie managed the office.In a WBRZ article, Attorney Craig Davidson, Jr., said that 10 guns did not go missing from the shop. Instead, one or two guns were stolen during 2001–2008. Davidson claimed the rest of the missing guns were receivers that were thrown away or destroyed when gunsmiths made mistakes. Although Davidson characterized the lost weapons as “simple bookkeeping errors”, the BATF requires serial-numbered parts to be tracked. Will and Stephanie Hayden did not keep track, so, according to Davidson, Hayden and the ATF mutually agreed to shut down Red Jacket, Inc.

Since the cancellation of the show, Kris Ford was arrested on child abuse charges and for assault on a minor. Stephanie Hayden-Ford, who is the mother of the child from a previous relationship, was also arrested for assault charges on October 17, 2014. Bail was set at $25,000 each according to WWL.

On July 12, 2017, Hayden pled no contest to two separate rape charges filed against him in Livingston Parish, Louisiana and received a third life sentence plus 10 years, to run concurrently with his previous sentences. He was subsequently transferred to the Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola.In September 2011, Jupiter Entertainment, the Sons of Guns production company, made the evening news when its staff member, on the 10th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, parked a rental truck, containing automatic weapons and pyrotechnics, outside the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, while waiting for a colleague. Part of Terminal B was closed for several hours while the FBI investigated, but found no wrongdoing. An executive of the production company said he regretted the incident, and blamed it on “a simple yet colossal error in judgement by a member of our staff.”

On August 11, 2014, Hayden was arrested and charged with molestation of a juvenile and aggravated crimes against nature. He was subsequently charged with rape of a child based on the statements of the victim.

Davidson further stated that at that time, Hayden was already in discussions with the Discovery Channel about the show, and had plans to start another business, Red Jacket Firearms, LLC. Will Hayden is not an officer of Red Jacket Firearms, LLC. When Davidson was asked why Hayden was not an officer, Davidson stated the reason was a “confidential business decision”.On April 7, 2017, Hayden was convicted of two counts of aggravated rape and one count of forcible rape, of two girls over the course of two decades. On May 11, 2017, Hayden received two life sentences (mandatory for aggravated rape), to run concurrently, plus 40 years, to run consecutively, in prison. He is not eligible for any parole, probation, or suspension of sentence, and will spend the rest of his life in custody.

In Autumn 2017, Playtime was announced to co-produce and to handle international sales on Gun City, a period Spanish thriller, directed by Dani de la Torre and produced by Spain’s Vaca Films Studio and Atresmedia Cine/La Ley del Plomo with Playtime Prods. Veteran Spanish actor Luis Tosar and up-and-comer Michelle Jenner starred. Production budget was 5 million euros ($5.89 million). Everything from antique collectables to build it yourself AR offerings. Most vendors were glad to share their expertise if you just asked. If you are looking for cut rate prices you will need to close up the show when vendors would rather sell than pack it all up. I am anxious to return.

It is a great way to spend a day. I learn more every time I go to one of these. I’m rarely thrilled by the prices, but every now and then, if you go early on opening day, you can find some great bargains and some hard-to-find items. Last year, I bought 1000 new brass casings on 25-20 for a very reasonable price. I can’t even find these anywhere on the planet, aside from Australia, at any price. And like others have said, its interesting and a lot of fun to simply talk with the vendors. There is so much knowledge crammed into one location that the $10 ticket cost is a pittance. You are also very likely to make new friends. I met a fantastic gunsmith there who is now my “go-to guy” for gunsmitthing in the KC area. What is also a nice feature is that there are numerous things of interest there for my wife; who enjoys going as much as I do. A marriage enhancing experience coupled with a tangible show of support for our 2nd Amendment rights? What more could you want?

These are great shows. But the ones at the Overland park convention center, a different show, has few guns and more knives, vitamins, survival food and safes. Couldn’t even find a Ruger 10/22 for sale at the Overland park Convention centerIt seems you must not have been. Actually there is a lot of things that are hard to find anywhere. The prices can be very good. I find it more entertaining than paying to see a movie. I can wander around one for 3 or 4 hours.

Been to several gun shows. This is by far the largest in the Kansas City area, and I attended it for two days just to see everything. Very good selection of new, used and vintage firearms at good to very good prices. I found great deals on both a new AR-15 and EMP 9mm. Also found a very good bulk ammo dealer! Seriously, I was impressed!Always love a good gun show. Very knowledgeable sellers for the most part. Creates a great perspective if you’re interested in firearms or knives. It’s also interesting as a social event. Great way to spend a few hours for fun we’re just watching people.
