Mommy Long Legs is a large, slender creature bearing an uncanny resemblance to a spider, albeit with only four limbs. She has baby pink skin with curly, tangled noodle-like hot pink hair, styled into a high ponytail using a baby blue hair tie. Her face consists of a pair of wide-set green eyes with tiny pupils and three eyelashes, as well as a gaping, hollow mouth. Dark pink lipstick can be seen adorning her mouth, and she has no nose. A thin neck with a baby blue necklace connects her head to her body, which is comprised of a small angular torso with a dark pink sweetheart neckline, a thin appendage resembling her ‘waist’, and a rotund dark pink bottom to resemble a sweetheart-bodice dress. Her four limbs are all extremely elastic, capable of stretching ‘hundreds of feet’ according to the Transfer Request. Her arms end in two crimson glove-like hands with thin baby blue cuffs, while her legs end in ankle-length baby blue stockings with crimson Mary Janes.Encountering the player once more, Mommy begins yelling at them, claiming that they cheated and how she asked the player to “play fair”. Mommy then says how she hates cheaters, and that there is one last game called “Hide and Seek”. She will then start counting down from 10 (however she will stop at 2), and the player must run. Although she is meant to chase the player, for the next few rooms, Mommy isn’t heard or seen once. After pulling four colored levers, the player opens a door and Mommy rushes towards them from under the area they opened the door from. She eventually chases the player through the underground facilities until they reach the Emergency Exit door.
Is Huggy Wuggy appropriate for kids?
Why Are People Concerned About Huggy Wuggy? Common Sense Media cautions parents, “While there’s no graphic violence or gore, there are splatters of blood throughout the factory. Also, the horror nature of the game will likely be too scary for younger audiences.”
In the Transfer Request Document, Mommy was revealed to be hostile towards the scientists and personnel of Playtime Co. Her hostility to the scientists also extends to any workers that are affiliated with Playtime Co. regardless of work position. In contrast to her behaviour towards the workers, she is shown to be motherly and caring, even protective to other experiment subjects. Her motherly personality also extends to children, as the document stated that alongside boosting her morale, it is unlikely that Mommy will turn hostile in front of them. Despite the stated motherly nature in the documents, she does not showcase so in the events of Chapter 2, as she will kill her own minions if they fail to kill the player, like Bunzo Bunny and the Mini Huggies (although PJ Pug-a-Pillar was spared). This also showed how she does not tolerate failures.
Is Poppy Playtime safe for 7 year olds?
The game does not appear to have any age restrictions however the developers have recommended for players age 8+.
She also seems to have the ability to create spider webs just like a normal spider, which she uses to gag Poppy Playtime’s mouth shut and trap her in an office. She also used webs to hang the corpses of Bunzo Bunny and the Mini Huggies after murdering them for their failures.Mommy is first introduced while walking through the Game Station Hallway. As The Player is scanning their Red GrabPack Hand, Mommy climbs down and snatches the hand away. She then explains how she wants to play a game, as she hasn’t played a game in years. She also taunts Poppy Playtime in the process by mimicking her voice. Mommy Long Legs promises the Train Station code if the player plays all three games seen in the Game Station.
Like all of the organic toy experiments of Playtime Co., Mommy Long Legs possesses paranormal amounts of physical strength and speed. She is capable of instantly killing the player if she manages to catch them. Her elastic limbs allow her enhanced mobility and are able to stretch hundreds of feet according to the Transfer Request, and she can be seen swiftly climbing along the ceiling and rafters of the Playtime Co factory. She can contort and bend her body when needed, and can take on a quadrupedal posture in order to gain more speed when running.Mommy is encountered a third time when the player enters the Wack-a-Wuggy game. She goes into detail how the Mini Huggies used to be tied to a string to prevent them from escaping and getting too close to the children, but now those strings are gone, and the Mini Huggies can freely move, allowing them to jump towards and jumpscare you. Once finished with the mini-game, Mommy becomes annoyed at the fact that the player has won yet again, but attempts to congratulate them while also holding back her frustration. She still gives the player the second piece of the Train Code as she talks about how it’s sad that The Player will leave so soon, and how she wishes to play games with them forever. Once again after the player leaves the room, Mommy kills the Mini Huggies for failing her.
Through the events of Chapter 2, Mommy Long Legs ropes the player into participating multiple games, in which she claimed that she will hand pieces of the train code if they win the games. Mommy Long Legs however does everything in her power to prevent the player from winning and killing them in the end, such as rigging the games which the player is forced to participate in. For example, the Musical Memory game originally only had four colors, but Mommy Long Legs tampered with the mechanics so the program adds more colors and even mathematical properties to the game to increase the difficulty. Near the end of the game, she even doubled the panels and ramped up the speed of which the correct orders are displayed to make it impossible to win.
Is Kissy Missy appropriate for kids?
Amongst the information that developers have released, is the addition of new characters, including Mommy Long Legs and Kissy Missy. Like Huggy Wuggy, these new characters have arguably ‘innocent’ names that may sound child-friendly but could be visually disturbing and upsetting for children.
Mommy Long Legs, otherwise referred to as Experiment 1222 or Marie Payne seen on the Transfer Request, is a toy produced by Playtime Co.., who debuted in Chapter 2: Fly in a Web as its main antagonist. The fourth encounter is after the player enters the Statues mini-game. She laments about how the children she took care of left her behind once they were done with her. She then states that she didn’t deserve to get left behind to die alone, but the player does, as they worked at the factory. During the Statues mini-game, the player realizes that the exit of Statues is blocked off by debris, and thus rigging the game in Mommy’s favor. They then end up “cheating” and grappling to the viewing area to escape the game.
Is Mommy Long Legs evil or good?
Even though she is incredibly cruel, heartless, psychotic, bad-tempered, abusive, and murderous to those that failed her and is the main threat of Chapter 2, Mommy Long Legs does have redeeming features: She cares very deeply for the children and she never ever hurts or attacks them, making her a mother figure to them.
The blood seen erupting from Mommy Long Legs as she is crushed by a grinder confirms that she is organic in nature and in fact a literal living toy. It is likely that she has a functioning digestive system, similar to Huggy Wuggy, as she threatens that she will “eat your insides” to the player.Mommy Long Legs seemed to have an extreme ego yet also suffers from attachment issues, as she boastfully claimed that the children she guided around the game station referred to her as Mommy, as she concluded that she is the closest thing that they have to a maternal figure, yet continued with saying that the children left her to die after finishing all the games, as they only had interests in the games, but not Mommy herself.
In her furious form, Mommy takes on a deranged and annoyed appearance. Her entire body becomes withered and covered in grime. Her face is twisted into a permanent frown, while her mouth has become a scowling grimace.
In the beginning of Chapter 2, Mommy Long Legs presented herself with a warm and welcoming front to lure the player into participating her games, this facade however diminished very quickly as she threatened the player with death and the possibility of having their innards consumed by her, should the player refuse to bid by her commands. Throughout the variety of games the player has to play in to win and survive, Mommy Long Legs displays a sinister mix of childlike friendliness and mentally unhinged, making her movements unpredictable. She tends to mask her frustrations with a friendly childlike facade to hide her growing anger, such as when the player wins yet another game of her’s, or when the player escaped from the Statue game area, causing Mommy to desperately try luring the player back into the game area with the false promise of giving them the train code, while increasingly getting furious and violent. In her deranged form, Mommy’s general appearance remains almost identical to her furious state. However, her eyes are now completely dilated, giving off an unhinged vibe. Her irises have also faded to a pale artichoke. She will also no longer blink. Her hair is now twisted and mangled, no longer the neat curls in her previous two forms. Her hands are enlarged maniacally, and her fingers are splayed and elongated to resemble claws. Her body is also twisted in even more alarming and unnatural angles throughout her final chase. During her death scene, blood can be seen splattering out of Mommy Long Legs as she is crushed by the grinder. This confirms that she is organic in nature like Huggy Wuggy and other living toy experiments.Mommy Long Legs was first created before her grand debut as a toy sometime before 1991. She was created as a failed experiment, but was created to guide and sooth children throughout their time within the Game Station.
Mommy is encountered a second time when the player enters the Memory Incognitive Test Platform. She explains how she hasn’t seen the game in years, and the rules of the game. The rules are fairly simple. You must click the buttons the TV flashes, if failed, Bunzo Bunny will slowly be lowered. If successful, Bunzo will go back up. If the player lets Bunzo come all the way down, Bunzo presumably eats them as Mommy explains “It’s been so long since he’s been able to play, to cheer, to eat.” Once successfully completing the stressful test, Mommy gives the player the first part of the code of the Train Code. As soon as the player leaves the room, Mommy kills Bunzo for failing her.
After the success of Mommy Long Legs, Playtime Co. had decided to officially make Mommy Long Legs an existing toy mascot and she would later make her toy debut specifically on February 2, 1991. She was marketed with her unique elastic plastic that allowed her to stretch great lengths with ease.At the finale of the chapter, Mommy Long Legs has completely gone deranged and insane, as her voice constantly switches from high-pitched tones to aggressive loud ones, and her limbs also extend to freakish angles and abnormally long lengths, her eyes also dilate to complete pitch black. Throughout this section, Mommy Long Legs becomes very hostile and is constantly in search of the player, trying to kill them at all attempts, becoming incredibly reckless as she accidentally got herself stuck in a grinder, something which the player took advantage of to put an end into her rampage. Through the multiple times she chases down the player, she can be heard laughing sinisterly in a booming low voice. It appears that Mommy Long Legs deeply feared one particular experiment, Experiment 1-0-0-6, The Prototype. As she is dragged into the grinder, she screams in agony “He’ll make me part of him”, implying she understood what his goal is. As they open the door, Mommy charges after the player. However, she is so eager to catch them that she ends up getting her hand stuck in a grinder. The player then pulls the grinder’s lever, and it begins to pull Mommy in. Mommy proceeds to howl in pain and protest that the player can’t do this to her, but her attempts to free herself are futile, and she is killed when the grinder crushes her abdomen. The top half of her body disconnects from her lower half and collapses to the ground, which is then dragged away by a mysterious claw.Huggy Wuggy sounds like a cuddly teddy bear, but the monster is actually an evil villain in the 2021 horror PC game Poppy Playtime by MOB Games. The blue stuffed bear is no Care Bear. When he opens his mouth, he has rows of sharp teeth. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Unfortunately, Huggy Wuggy isn’t the first potentially harmful trend, and it won’t be the last. Open and honest conversations with your child can help them navigate the digital space and playground.
While it is not clear why children like Huggy Wuggy, one thing is certain: kids process fear differently. This means that what adults find scary, for example, some kids find funny, silly, and cool. Does this explain why children are obsessed with a sock puppet with razor-sharp teeth? Maybe. Sometimes, though, the allure of a toy or object is the fact that our parents dislike it.
Parents can use expert advice from previous trends, like the 2019 Momo Challenge, which prompted necessary discussions about cyberbullying, and the recent Squid Game controversy.Kids are gettings exposed to Huggy Wuggy in a variety of places. Some children have played Playtime Poppy despite its 12+ rating by Common Sense Media. Other children have seen videos of the monster-bear hybrid on YouTube and TikTok, and some simply know of Huggy Wuggy based on the toy, which is sold in gift shops across the country and is regularly given out at as a carnival prize. It has been said some children are even replicating Huggy Wuggy on the playground, playing it as they would tag or another like game. “It is a very deceiving character, as hugs should be seen as something kind and loving,” wrote Deal Parochial Primary School head Justine Brown in her letter to parents. By now, you’ve probably heard about (or seen) Huggy Wuggy—a wide-eyed, sharp-toothed video-game monster turned carnival toy. Debuted in 2021, Huggy Wuggy seems reminiscent of “Fuzzy Wuzzy” (at least in namesake) but don’t let his moniker fool you: Huggy Wuggy isn’t your average bear… if he’s a bear at all. But what is Huggy Wuggy and the Playtime Poppy game? When you visit the site, Dotdash Meredith and its partners may store or retrieve information on your browser, mostly in the form of cookies. What does mommy long legs do to her victims?
Mommy Long Legs eats her victims from their organs, similar to how some spiders eat their prey. However, in the jumpscares, the player can see her biting into their face. The theme song in her advertisement has the same melody as “Itsy Bitsy Spider”.
Common Sense Media cautions parents, “While there’s no graphic violence or gore, there are splatters of blood throughout the factory. Also, the horror nature of the game will likely be too scary for younger audiences.”Poppy Playtime is a game of survival set in an abandoned toy factory. Players must solve puzzles while Huggy Wuggy hunts them. He has inspired multiple YouTubers to create parodies of creepy songs that, while not intended for children, are easy for kids to find and watch online.

Do Daddy Long legs feel pain?
They don’t feel ‘pain,’ but may feel irritation and probably can sense if they are damaged. Even so, they certainly cannot suffer because they don’t have emotions.

Is Daddy-Long-Legs a real character in Poppy Playtime?
Daddy Long Legs is a toy produced by Playtime Co. who debuted on a poster in Chapter 2: Fly in a Web of Poppy Playtime. Not much is known about him, other than he comes in the Mommy Long Legs & Family set with Mommy Long Legs and Baby Long Legs.
Last year, we carried out an Online Safety Review on the game Poppy Playtime. Now, one of the most popular characters from the game, Huggy Wuggy, has reignited safeguarding concerns due to reports of online challenges and disturbing content featuring the character.Amongst the information that developers have released, is the addition of new characters, including Mommy Long Legs and Kissy Missy. Like Huggy Wuggy, these new characters have arguably ‘innocent’ names that may sound child-friendly but could be visually disturbing and upsetting for children.
Every child is different. Some may genuinely enjoy the horror genre and not struggle with any lasting feelings of fear or panic from playing a game. However, if it causes a child to be stressed or anxious, they may:
One potential reason for the recent increase in content and popularity may be that a second version of the game is rumoured to be released very soon. A new trailer has been released, alongside ‘teaser’ clips and many fan-made videos on YouTube discussing the potential changes. If a parent or carer expresses concern about Huggy Wuggy or Poppy Playtime, share this article and our resources with them to help provide context and further advice.Due to the name of the character, these videos are often ‘slipping through the net’ of platforms’ safeguarding measures like content filtering and age-restrictions.In order to make visiting our website more attractive and to enable the use of certain functions, we use so-called cookies on various pages. In the third game, Mommy explains that the children used to call her “Mommy,” as they shared a close bond with her. She knows that the player is an ex-employee and says that they deserve to be trapped in the factory for their role in experimenting on the children. Her final challenge to the protagonist is a chase against PJ Pug-A-Pillar. During the chase, the protagonist finds that the exit has been blocked by rubble, meaning they were never supposed to win this game. They then escape into an employee observatory. She is a sadistically playful, pink spider-like toy created by Playtime Co. in 1991. One of her most notable features are her limbs, which are extremely elastic and bendable. In a secret note, Mommy Long Legs was the result of an experiment on a woman named Marie Payne, who was brutally tortured and experimented on, presumably by the scientist. It is written that she shows hatred and hostility towards the staff for experimenting on her but acts nicely to the other experiments and children.
Mommy Long Legs is shown in the game to be the second-largest creature (at least thus far). Mommy is a pink spider-like toy designed to have magenta, noodle-like hair styled into a high ponytail and wearing a one-piece magenta dress and a blue beaded necklace. While the bottom part would normally be the spider’s abdomen, it is instead represented as Mommy’s waist, while her actual stomach right above is long and skinny. She has green eyes, long arms, and long legs. She wears pink shoes and a band around her hair. Her hair is magenta, and she has pink lipstick on her mouth. She can hang like a spider, and she is about two feet tall. The revelation of her skin in the spinning gears when she dies, as well as the saliva in her mouth whenever she kills and consumes the player, heavily hint at her being organic. While she stated that she doesn’t like cheaters, she ironically rigged all the games from the start by making most of them virtually impossible to win, making her somewhat hypocritical. The examples are down below:
This escape infuriates Mommy, who tracks the protagonist down in the service tunnels and accuses them of cheating. She announces that they will then play one final “game” of Hide and Seek. After evading her, the player finally lures her into an industrial grinder and activates it, crushing half her body and killing her. Her remains are then dragged under a barred-up door by a hand.Despite her brutal and murderous nature, she is not completely fearless, such as when she screams in terror as her body is crushed in a grinder in her final moments. It is known that she fears one particular experiment, due to him being one of the most dangerous experiments (if not the most dangerous experiment) ever created in the factory, confirmed when she yells at the player that he will make her body a part of his should she die. Her fear somehow comes true when a hand (presumably his hand) drags her remains away.
When the player first meets Poppy in the hallway, Mommy’s stretchy hand emerges from a hole, grabs Poppy, and pulls her down the hole. The Player first meets Mommy Long Legs before entering the game station where she is holding Poppy hostage. She informs the player that instead of just giving the player the train code as Poppy wanted to do, they will have to play one of her games for the code. She then leaves after threatening to tear the player limb-from-limb and eat their organs alive should they break the rules. She will then appear in the room where the player plays Musical Memory.
When agitated, like Huggy Wuggy, Mommy’s appearance changes into something much creepier. Her fingers begin to elongate like her limbs, her eyes widen and her pupils dilate to the point where it’s almost entirely black, and her string-like hair becomes sporadic and bends at various points. Before the Whack-A-Wuggy game, she says that the Huggies used to have strings attached to them so they could be pulled back if they got too close to the children. After winning the game, she gives up another part of the code for the train. Similar to Bunzo, thrashing noises are heard when exiting the game, and later, several Huggies are found hung to the ceiling via the same webs. Mommy is shown to be “happy” when encountering the player in the game, as she expresses, “A new playmate! It’s been so long!”, while keeping a creepy, somewhat vicious expression on her face. If you are 18 years or older or are comfortable with graphic material, you are free to view this page. Otherwise, you should close this page and view another page. Before the game starts, she wonders how excited Bunzo Bunny is to play, as well as eat, since nobody has played in such a long time. After the game, she gives up part of the train code, but decides to continue playing with the player. When the player leaves, thrashing noises and cymbals are heard, and in the game station, Bunzo’s corpse can found hung to the ceiling via spider webs, implying that Mommy killed him as punishment for failing to kill the player.

Though sadistic towards the employees for experimenting on her, she is mentioned to be kind towards children. This is likely because she knows that they are innocent, they treat her very well, and that they are in no way responsible for her condition or situation. Although she is also sympathetic towards her fellow experiments (likely because she knows that they are in the same boat that she is), she is not above killing them if they fail her, such as when she kills Bunzo and the Mini Huggies offscreen for failing to kill the player.
Experiment-1222 (real name Marie Payne), most commonly known as Mommy Long Legs, is a major antagonist in the Poppy Playtime franchise, serving as the main antagonist of Chapter 2: Fly in a Web, as well as one of the main antagonists of the prequel spin-off game, Project: Playtime.
She is also shown to be quite deceptive, as despite her continuously reassuring that she would let the player leave the factory if they played her games, it is heavily implied that she wouldn’t hold up her end of the bargain and instead kill them. She was voiced by Elsie Lovelock, who also provided Charlie Morningstar’s singing voice in the Hazbin Hotel pilot, and voiced Uzi in Murder Drones and Evelyn Claythorne in Meta Runner.
How old is Daddy-Long-Legs?
Daddy long legs are very, very, very old. The oldest fossil ever found of one is more than 410 million years old! Despite how long they have lived on Earth, there are still many things about them that are a mystery to scientists.
The game is designed to appeal to young children however some of the imagery may be frightening to them and the style of gameplay could increase feelings of anxiety or stress. The game isn’t gory but uses child friendly toys in frightening ways which could make young children scared of things they have previously felt comfortable with.
Entomologists and other scientists remove this ambiguity by using the scientific name for an organism. This name is the same across the world so scientists can be sure they are talking about the same species.
The phrase ‘daddy long legs’ illustrates one of the biggest problems in biology. That is, people in different parts of the world use the same name to refer to more than one species or even groups of species. If you agree, we’ll also use cookies to complement your shopping experience across the Amazon stores as described in our Cookie Notice. What is Daddy Long Legs real name?
Pholcus phalangioides A species of spider called Pholcus phalangioides which is found in cellars, basements and dark corners of houses. It’s also called the Daddy Long Legs spider or Cellar spider.
One species of spider called a cellar spider looks a lot like daddy long legs, so much so that daddy long legs is another common name for this species. But if you look closely at a cellar spider, it is easy to recognize the two body parts, clearly showing it is a spider and not a true daddy long leg.Just like skunks, most species have scent glands that release an unpleasant odor, sending potential predators running the other way. If daddy long legs are really in a jam, they can “release” a leg, and it will continue twitching for a while, giving them an opportunity to run away. This is a last option because their legs do not grow back. If it is one of the more sensitive longer pairs, they will not survive without it for long.
Daddy long legs, sometimes called harvestmen, belong to the group of animals called arachnids. Arachnids are eight-legged critters, and there are five main groups: mites, ticks, scorpions, spiders and daddy long legs. Daddy long legs are more closely related to ticks and scorpions than they are to spiders.
Daddy long legs are very, very, very old. The oldest fossil ever found of one is more than 410 million years old! Despite how long they have lived on Earth, there are still many things about them that are a mystery to scientists. Here are some fun facts we do know.Daddy long legs use their legs for walking, catching prey, smelling and breathing. Their second pair of legs is longer than the rest. They use these legs like an insect uses its antennae. If you observe one long enough, you may notice they use the mouth parts, called chelicerae, to clean their legs often.
Daddy long legs have varied diets. They prey on pillbugs (what you may call roly-polys), mites, small insects and tiny eggs. They scavenge on dead worms, spiders and insects. Plus they can eat small particles of plants, fungus, fruit, sap and sometimes even bird droppings.
Females can lay up to several hundred eggs at a time in decaying logs or moss. The babies are tiny versions of their adult form. They molt about every 10 days, becoming adults in about one year. Males usually die soon after reaching adulthood, but females may live up to three years. One species found only in Brazil lives up to seven years!
